  • Rear Axle Air Bag Suspension Enhancement Kit for 1996 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup
  • All of the suspension enhancement kits we offer, both rubber spring and air bag types, are intended for use in vehicles whose stock suspension is in good working order. The helper springs are not a substitute for properly-installed leaf springs. Also, please note that addition of a kit does not increase any vehicle's weight carrying capacity which will remain as stated by the vehicle manufacturer. You can use the link provided to see all compatible rear-axle suspension kits offered for...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 1998 Chevy S-10 with Stepside and Roll Pan
  • The Draw-Tite Hitch # 75085 that you referenced would be exactly what you would need. This hitch is designed to work on 1998 Chevy S-10s with stepside and a roll pan bumper so it should work well for you. The install will require the temporary removal of the roll pan, but it will not require any modification to the bumper or any drilling otherwise. I attached installation instructions for you to check out also.

  • Quick Link Recommendations for a Roadmaster Base Plate Kit Short Safety Cables
  • The base plate kit part # 161-1 that you referenced does only include 2 of the short safety cables and two of the quick links. The other two you saw most likely came with a set of long safety cables that are sold separately. To order additional ones you would want part # RM-910022 that is sold individually.

  • Recommended Ladder Rack And Kayak Carrier For 2001 Chevrolet S-10 With Bed Cap
  • For your 2001 Chevrolet S-10 pickup with the cap I recommend the TracRac CapRac Ladder Rack for Camper Shell/Truck Cap, part # TH29200XT. This ladder rack has elliptical crossbars constructed of aluminum, and includes 4 load stops to help keep everything in place. I recommend the Thule The Stacker, part # TH830. This is a post-style carrier that will allow you to carry the kayaks side by side on your crossbars. This system also includes 2 adjustable tie-down straps to secure the kayaks...

  • Yakima Slimshady Awning Truck Bed Mount
  • We do have ways to connect your awning to your truck but brackets aren't your best options. I would suggest getting the Yakima BedRock HD Truck Bed Crossbars # Y01160-58. Your SlimShady # Y56VR should have came with clamps # 8880737 which will clamp to the HD bars on your bed. This will give you the location you're wanting! The HD Bars can be used from truck to truck and doesn't take much time or effort at all to get it installed! Check out my installation video to see how it works.

  • When Does Brake Output Circuit of Vehicle 7-Way Have Voltage
  • The brake output circuit on a 7-way (5:00 pin) will only have as much voltage on it as the brake controller is sending. Typically this going to depend on the amount of gain selected on the controller and other factors like brake controller style and ramp up speed of the controller. The only time the circuit would have voltage without the brake pedal being applied would be if you had the manual override lever of the controller slid. I attached a couple help articles on brake controllers...

  • Placement and Number of Safety Chain Mounts Needed on Trailer
  • The # 3375471001 Safety Chain Mounts would typically be welded to the trailer frame or tongue, the exact location would depend on the design of the trailer. You'll want to use two safety chain mounts. The mount is designed to hold a 3/8th's inch chain, so you'll need to make sure that the link on the chain has an opening size of at least 3/8 of an inch.

  • Reese Fifth Wheel Rail to Gooseneck Hitch Adapter # RP58079 Recommendation for a 1996 C2500 Chevy
  • The Reese Above-Bed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Adapter # RP58079 that you referenced should install in the fifth wheel rails you have in the bed of your 1996 Chevy Truck and provide you with a gooseneck hitch. • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2003 Chevy S-10 Sportside With Roll Pan Bumper
  • For your 2003 Chevy S-10 Sportside, I recommend the Curt Class III # 13920 which offers a concealed cross tube. If your bumper is factory, you won't have any issues. If it is aftermarket, I can't confirm you won't need to do any modifications. This hitch is a square tube design with a black powder coat finish over a protective base coat for extremly durable rust resistance. For your trailer wiring, I recommend the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer...

  • Towing Mirror Recommendation for a 2003 Chevy S-10
  • For your truck we have mirrors that will work, but at this time we do not have any custom fit towing mirrors. I recommend the K Source Universal Clip-On Towing Mirror, part # KS3891 for your vehicle. As long as you have a lip on the edge of your mirrors, these will work great for you. These mirrors are sold individually and will attach to either the driver or the passenger side mirrors. These mirrors measure 7-3/4inches tall by 5-1/8 inches wide. I have attached a link to a product review...

  • Trailer Brake Controller Installation on 2000 Chevy S-10
  • Your 2000 Chevy S-10 is not prewired for a brake controller, but that's not a huge deal. The hardwire installation is actually pretty simple. To begin with, you'll need a functional 4 pin trailer connector. If you don't have one already, you can easily install one using part # 118425 which installs inline at the connection between the vehicle's taillight wiring harness and taillight assemblies. For a brake controller, I'm not a huge fan of the Voyager brake controller. Don't get me wrong,...

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 1992 Chevy S-10 with Roll Pan Bumper
  • The Curt hitch part # 13920 is designed to fit the 1992 Chevy S-10 trucks that have the factory roll pan bumper. This hitch would fit behind the license plate so it sounds like this would be exactly what you would need. For trailer wiring you would then want the part # C55312. Since you wanted to do some towing you might be interested in etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts; one with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop and one with a 2-3/4 inch rise or 4 inch drop....

  • Ladder Rack Recommendation for 2001 Chevy S-10 for Carrying 2 Kayaks
  • For carrying your 2 kayaks the Yakima Outdoorsman 300 part # Y01136-Y00409 that you referenced would be a great option. It is confirmed to fit your 2001 Chevy S-10, has more than enough capacity for your kayaks as it has a 300 lb capacity and will install easily. It also will free up your truck bed for other cargo as well. I recommend the JayLow part # Y04073 for two kayaks on this ladder rack as well. I attached a review video for this as well.

  • Can Trailer Ball Hole in Towing Bumper Be Enlarged to Accommodate a 2-5/16 inch Trailer Ball
  • I wouldn't recommend doing that, as it will reduce the structural integrity of the bumper. Most towing bumpers are only rated for 3500 lbs, and a trailer that would use a 2-5/16 ball is typically heavier than that. You'd want to use the receiver hitch shown in your photo, rather than mounting a ball in your bumper.

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2002 Chevy S-10 Manual Transmission
  • From the research I did it looks like a drive shaft disconnect is recommended for flat towing your 2002 S-10. This is surprising to me though since typically manual transmission vehicles are good to go as-is for flat towing. All you usually have to do is put the vehicle in neutral and it is ready. However, the owners manual of a vehicle is the final authority on flat towing procedures for a vehicle. As long as your S-10 is a 2 wheel drive truck the correct base plate kit would be the Roadmaster...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2000 Chevy S-10 Behind an RV
  • Curt Tow Bar # C19745 isn't vehicle specific so you can use it on your 2000 Chevy S-10. It comes with universal bumper brackets that will need to mount to a flat, metal section of the vehicle bumper which does require modifying/reinforcing the bumper/vehicle. This tow bar is fine for moving vehicles short distances but as a regular use tow bar it is not a good solution. If you will be towing the S-10 long distances behind an RV then I recommend a custom flat towing set up. For that you...

  • Flat Towing a 2002 Chevy S-10 2WD Behind a Motor Home Recommendations
  • I did some checking and it looks like the only way to flat tow your 2002 Chevy S10 is with a lube pump. Check the owners manual of your truck to verify this. There are several other components needed to flat tow your truck. I recommend Roadmaster Base Plates, # 161-1 to start. The most popular tow bar we have is the Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar part # RM-520. You will also need safety cables and a light kit as required by law. For safety cables, I recommend the Single Hook, Coiled Safety...
